Greyhound Baseball Club played in the USSSA Oktoberfest tournament this weekend in Canton, MI. This was the first official 13u tournament for the 2015 Greyhounds, with 80' bases and 54' pitching. The boys had no problem adapting to the larger playing field, but the cold weather was a different story. The weather this weekend in Canton was brutal on Saturday, with cold temperatures and gusty winds the entire day. The tournament started on Saturday with a 3hr rain delay for most age brackets, which pushed our first game to 4:30pm. The Greyhounds started off slow, and ended up losing Game 1 (5-2) to the NW Oakland Rattlers. The boys bounced back in Game 2 with a 9-1 win over the Michigan Lazers. It was another exciting weekend of baseball for all the Greyhound players, coaches and families. |
