Greyhound Baseball Club 11u traveled to Youngstown, OH to compete in the Battle on the Border tournament over the June 7-9, 2013 weekend. It was an exciting weekend of baseball with 28 teams registered in the 11u division.

The Greyhounds started the tournament off strong going 2-0 in pool play on Saturday morning with wins against the PA Diamond Kings (9-0) and Prospects (9-1) and earned the #2 seed in the gold bracket. The Greyhounds returned Saturday evening to begin bracket play against the the Lake Erie Bombers, winning 5-3.

The team returned on Sunday to begin it's quest to the championship game. The boys came out hot again on Sunday with big wins against the Jackson Bears (6-2) and Ohio Glaciers - DeLuca (3-2). Both games were very competitive through 6 innings with parents sitting on the edge of their seats.

The final game was against the Alliance Elite, who knocked out the #1 seed Beaver Valley Red with a mercy. The Greyhounds came out strong and took an early 3 run lead, but couldn't hold the Elite through 6 innings. The final score was 9-5. We ended with a 5-1 record for the weekend and earned second place.

Plenty of memories captured in the photo gallery, along with a video of the awards ceremony in the video gallery.
