The Greyhounds participated in the Grosse Pointe End of Summer Classic this weekend, playing up in the 10u division. The boys started the tournament against the talented GPWS - Hall team who jumped out to a 3-1 lead. The Greyhounds rallied back later in the game to win 5-4.

On Saturday, we played Rochester Hills who also started out with a 3-1 lead. The Greyhounds rallied back to tie the game 3-3 and send the game into a 6th inning after exceeding the time limit. The game ended in the 7th inning with a loss 5-4. This was a very exciting game between two evenly matched teams.

The second game on Saturday put us up against the GPWS - Avengers who turned out to be a little more than the Greyhounds could handle. They had several players ( See Picture) that were good size 10/11 year old's. The Greyhounds lost in 4 innings 17-1.

The overall weekend was enjoyed by everyone who attended. We carried 12 players in the tournament this weekend, with 9 of the 10 players that have signed for the 2012 season. We would also like to thank the three families and players that joined us this weekend for baseball with the Greyhounds. Mason, Jordan and Noah are all great baseball players and are always welcome to play with the Greyhounds when the opportunity presents itself.

As the manager of the Greyhounds, I am very proud of how our team played against older boys this weekend. They were clearly playing up against larger players who were 1 and in some cases 2 years older.
