Greyhound Baseball Club will compete at a local and national level in 2014, with the focus on tournament play. The majority of our tournament participation will be in the state of Michigan however, we are planning to participate in three out of state tournaments for 2014, including a week-long trip to Cooperstown.  To prepare for the season, the team will participate in a dome ball league at Oakland Yard Athletics in addition to weekly indoor practices during the winter months, and if accepted, will also play in an elite spring league consisting of a single game each week instead of a full MABF schedule.

2014 Greyhounds will also have the opportunity to play summer and fall tournaments with the team. We plan to play multiple tournaments through October 31, 2013, which are OPTIONAL to all players on the team.

On a staffing note, Tony Hall will take over the helm as Head Coach for the 2014 season.  Tony brings 20 years of coaching experience across multiple youth sports.  Bill Lubanski and Nick Krysinski will return as 4th year assistant coaches.  I would also like to announce the addition of Thomas Waelchli to the instructional staff.  Thomas will provide pitching and hitting instruction for our players and comes to us with over 30 years’ experience at the collegiate and Major League Baseball levels.  We are pleased to have Thomas on board and believe his participation will help take our players skills to the next level.
