2014 marks what we believe has been one of the most successful Detroit Tigers Hometown Championships to date.  With 82 team competing and nearly 150 games played we are excited about the success of this year’s outcome.

As a reminder your team has been invited to Comerica Park next Wednesday, August 13 as the Tigers take on the Pittsburgh Pirates.  Your team will be participating in a special pre-game ceremony that will recognize ALL teams and will give special recognition to the winners of each division.  The ceremony will take place on the field prior to the commencement of the game.  During the ceremony, we will also recognize the recipient of the Good Sportsmanship award.

It is extremely important that you read and follow the instructions below to ensure that the ceremony takes place on time and that your team is ready and prepared.

The details are as follows:

1)        Once your team has all arrived, present this email at the gate located off of Adams Street beginning at 5:45 p.m.  The Adams Street Ramp is located in Comerica Park at Adams and Brush Streets near Gate C.

2)        We ask that you keep your players together and follow the direction of the Detroit Tigers personnel.  All guests (parents, family, non-players, etc.) should take their tickets and enter Comerica Park in the conventional manner as ONLY players and coaches will be allowed to go onto the field.

3)        All members of your team should report to the Adams Street Ramp no later than 6:20 p.m. Gates will be closed at the time.

4)        We ask that your players wear their complete uniform for this ceremony.  Jersey, cap, and khaki pants or shorts are also acceptable.  (No cleats or spikes will be allowed)  It is our desire to look as professional as possible as the ceremony will be viewed by nearly, 40,000 fans.  Players who elect NOT to wear the team uniform will not be allowed beyond the Adams Street gate.  Coaches who do not have team jersey must wear the team’s official colors.  Please limit four (4) coaches per team.

5)        Once check-in for the ceremony is complete, everyone will be briefed on the policies and procedures for the ceremony.

6)        After the conclusion of the on-field ceremony, all players and coach will be escorted back to the Adams Street Ramp were they may enter the ball park using Gate C.
Please be advised that the on-field ceremony will be for the players and coaches only!

Finally, all guests should be familiar with the Comerica Park security guidelines including the following:

·        No coolers or backpacks will be allowed into the park.
·        Large bags measuring over 16x16x8 are also not allowed into the ballpark.
·        All permitted bags including purses, and diaper bags may be searched before entering the park.

You are encouraged to arrive early to allow additional time to park and enter the stadium.  Please note that our gates to the public will open at 5:00 prior to the start of the game.
